Catlin Like my mask, I am not represented by one thing. The skin of my mask is stucco, like the ceilings and walls of my cousin's home in Florida, where I spend a lot of my time. My cousin Bridget is one of my best friends, and the stucco reminds me of the good times and happiness we've shared, both in Florida and the other places we have traveled together. There is a shamrock in my eye - like "the apple of my eye" because I'm Irish, and my Irish culture is a big part of me. The shamrock is also a representation of my family because my entire family is Irish and the Irish culture is incorporated into our daily life. The quote is also Irish, and it also represents my family because my grandmother likes that quote and my family has written cards and put an ad in my yearbook when I graduated elementary school using that quote. We are very proud of our Irish heritage. My hair is stage curtains, which represents my love for acting and my dream of becoming a famous actress. My skin is white, which represents doves, which are symbolic of religion and God. The heart shows how much love there is in my life: for my family, my friends, and the newfound confidence in myself that I found this year. There are a ton of layers to my mask, like the first layer that I originally made - and didn't like - like the layers to myself there are. And the different selves that I have been over the years, and I have grown up and moved past certain phases in my life, but they are still a part of me. |
