Laura My mask completely represents me on the inside.  I made the mask have black stripes because that represents what I do not know about myself.  As an adopted child, I have never really known that much about my birth parents.  I do not really know about what nationalities make up who I am.  The only thing I know about my birth parents was that my birth mother was from Mexico and my birth father was Caucasian.  I barely know anything else about them.  The black stripes also represent the good things that I love about my life.  They represent the things I know and love.  They represent the color in my life.  They represent the friendships and my family relationships, my abilities and the amount of hard work I have put into school and life.  The ocean represents my favorite place to be.  It is a place where nothing seems to matter and I do not think about my background.  I think about the good things and the things that make me happy.
