The different aspects of my mask all represent different aspects of myself. To begin, I used different colors of tissue paper to portray the different things that affect me in life: school, friends, the media,
New York City
, and my family. Over this collage of colors, a scene of the
Second Avenue
subway station represents the daily life in
New York City
. The subway system in this city is crucial to the hectic, busy, chaos we call life. I decided to leave the bottom half of my mask a flesh tone to represent myself under all the influences mentioned above. It is important to remain individual and not fall into the cracks of the city streets or the grip of advertisements that line the
island
of
Manhattan
. Lastly, the magenta lips and false eyelashes simply represent me as a growing woman in a world that is often dominated by men.
