My mask has a black, gray, and white checkerboard pattern with purple fog coming up from the bottom, fading into it. It also has a photograph that I took, of a graveyard, within the fog. The checkerboard represents the contrasting events that I’ve gone through. There have been really happy things, and not so happy things. It seems that a lot of the things that have happened to me are like this. I now hold on to this idea that things can change, and it will get better, at some point, and I wanted that way of thinking to show through my mask.
