Paulyne (Okok Secondary School, Kisumu, Kenya)
When you are a young girl you have to do your school work. When you return home you have the job of fetching water, cooking and cleaning. Sometimes I don’t get time to study until very late at night. The brown means the land and its fertility. The white represents the peace which our community has maintained in case there is war or fighting within the community. Then there are actions taken accordingly. The orange color represents the beauty of the sun during the evening time when it is setting. I’ve painted it because during that time you find the communities and families getting together after work and they really enjoy that time.

Пока учишься в школе, надо делать домашние задания. Но когда я прихожу домой, мне сначала нужно принести воды, приготовить обед и сделать уборку. Иногда приходится садиться за уроки ночью.

Коричневый цвет символизирует плодородие земли. Белый символизирует мир. Оранжевый цвет показывает красоту заката солнца. Я нарисовала закат солнца, потому что это время, когда люди возвращаются домой с работы и вместе отдыхают.
